Writing and Editing

My days are consumed with writing and editing, a good problem to have for sure. But it also tends to make you a little slack jawed when keeping with other things. I’ve been meaning to get a few more blogs going but I’ve spent almost all my free time working on new stories. Which I assume is what most everyone wants to hear anyway.

Order of the Fallen, the last book in the Grimm Chronicles is coming along nicely. Its been fun catching up with these characters and I’m happy to be able to finish up Jess’ story. I think everyone will be happy with the outcome.

I’ve also been hard at work on edits for the first book in, The World of Four Corners, my new steampunk-fantasy series. This has been by far one of the stories I have had the most fun writing. I’m really looking forward to ever one getting a chance to enter this world and see all the crazy stuff I’ve put these characters through.

Building a new world from whole cloth can be taxing. With backgrounds, history and cultures that for the most part only exist as a portion of the world that is seen. I’m sure people will look at some things in this new world and assume they are based on contemporary society or civilization. But I can assure you that isn’t the case, while words and styles may creep in I wanted to very much make something new. It is a diverse world with many ethnic enclaves and cultures, some of which are for want of a better word, odd. Which is how I like it.

I also have been working on several novellas that are currently being edited. Including Doorknob Society, Bigelow Diaries and a few surprises.

Well back to writing, let me know what you’re most looking forward to in the comments.
