Sherlock Holmes and The Doorknob Society
I love to read and have always been a fan of mysteries, of one detective in particular. Which is how the idea of Sherlock Holmes and The Doorknob Society was hatched. Holmes as a character is one of the all time greats and has been written by almost every author imaginable. At one time or another we all come up with a Sherlock Holmes tale to tell, it is in our DNA.
I myself have written short stories about him for years. Now with the advent of steampunk the two genres seem to be melding together rather nicely. I mean who can resist putting Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson into a steampunk adventure. Even the recent Robert Downey Jr. movies had a steampunk flare to them.
I tend to never let characters go and I had planned on revisiting Ichibod (Bodie) Masters again at some point. But then the idea struck me, why not include him in a Sherlock Holmes story. And that was all I needed to be off to the races.
I am currently working on what now is a short story but may well become a novella. With Bodie returning and a few new additions that I hope everyone will enjoy. And of course the worlds greatest detective will be on the case of The Doorknob Society.
The story will be part of a new book of short stories that I’ll be releasing, hopefully by this summer. I’ll be sure to keep everyone up to date on the progress. but for now, the game is afoot.
